Joseph Lantrip, Owner / Principal Consultant of Trip Asphalt Consulting, LLC, has worked in the asphalt industry since 2001, on both the production and paving sides. He has served as plant operator, plant superintendent, asphalt laydown superintendent, operations manager, and Director of Manufacturing over eight facilities spanning nearly half of Oklahoma, including 20 years with a major Oklahoma asphalt producer. He has also run crushing and pug mill operations. His electrical and mechanical background informs everything from daily operations to major plant upgrades.
Along the way, he saw the same gap at every producer: there are never enough operators to cover vacations, emergency call-outs, and remote or mobile jobs, yet keeping a full bench of backups is too costly. Trip Asphalt was founded to fill that gap.
Today Trip Asphalt covers everything from basic plant operations and troubleshooting to major repairs and capital upgrades, plus fractional operations management across multiple plants, including creating and tracking KPIs and writing SOPs.
